Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced hybrid Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, overseeing accruals, and performing account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. The Senior Accountant will work from home 2-3 days per week.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **P&L Management:**
- Prepare, analyze, and present monthly and quarterly P&L statements, highlighting variances and trends.
- Collaborate with department heads to provide insights and recommendations for budget management and cost control.
- **Accruals:**
- Oversee the accrual accounting process, ensuring timely and accurate recognition of expenses and revenues.
- Review and adjust accrual entries as needed to reflect current business conditions and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- **Account Reconciliation:**
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve any reconciling items in a timely manner to maintain the integrity of financial statements.
- **Financial Reporting:**
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Support the annual budget and forecasting processes by providing historical data and financial analysis.
- **Audit Support:**
- Prepare necessary documentation and schedules for external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors to facilitate a smooth audit process and resolve any issues that arise.
- **Process Improvement:**
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices in financial reporting and internal controls.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree reguired in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on P&L management, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across departments.
