Chief of Staff to President of Company, Midtown Manhattan - Real Estate Non-Profit

Base salary, depending on experience. Bonus eligible.

Overview: Not-for-profit real estate firm seeks an experienced candidate for a position as a Chief of Staff. Reporting directly to the President, the role is best suited for an individual with a background in public policy or government and experienced in administration and data collection, report writing, and presentations. This individual will help ensure the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the Office of the President and will serve as a trusted advisor to the President and other senior staff members.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as gatekeeper to all correspondence, ensuring timely and appropriate responses;
  • Set all internal and external meeting agendas and lead meetings on behalf of the President;
  • Coordinate & schedule meetings with elected officials, key policy makers, external stakeholders, and members;
  • Work with fellow staff, members and outside lobbyists to track, review and prioritize policy issues and organizational priorities, identify interested stakeholders and foster collaboration among staff;
  • Assist in maintaining strong relationships with elected officials and key staff on the City, State, and Federal level with the purpose of advancing the organization’s interests and agenda;
  • Working with other staff members, take the lead responsibility ensuring the organization is prepared for meetings with the Executive Committee and Board of Governors;
  • Will be responsible, often working in concert with other Senior Staff members, for implementation of key policy goals for the organization;
  • Represent firm at political, governmental and other public events

Education / Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience supporting at the executive level
  • Previous experience with Government preferred
  • Excellent communication skills including demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-pace and constant changing environment
  • Excellent judgment and discretion regarding sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities
  • Friendly, positive attitude, team player
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
