Provide the full range of administrative, research, clerical and personal support to well-known and highly-regarded author. Working out of a small office in the family brownstone, the EA will provide all day-to-day administrative support including calendar, travel, managing schedules, payroll for all domestic staff (10), liaison with husband and other staff, managing bills, healthcare, etc. In addition to managing a very full writing career, this author also contributes her work to media publications (WSJ), runs a non-profit, and is very active in feminist causes and a number of very high-profile projects. Personal support will include errands, packing for travel, personal appointments, interacting with housekeepers and other staff in multiple homes, coordinating family travel, school calendars, interaction with remote assistant. This role will also require extensive academic research and highly developed organizational skills, a proven ability to handle highly confidential information, and work in a small office environment where no two days are the same.
A full 4-year+ college degree (preferably in a research-intensive discipline like history or psychology), professional confidence, excellent organizational skills, and a confident and pro-active demeanor all required. There is a dog in the home. This is a challenging and rewarding role for a candidate who has a combination of strong administrative skills and excellent research capabilities.
Hours/Benefits: 9-6:30 in the office with some 24/7 coverage as needed; Fully paid United Healthcare medical insurance, 15 paid vacation days, year-end bonus.
